NAMIBIA’S ZAMBEZI REGION > NAMIBIA
Namibia’s Zambezi Region
(Formerly The Caprivi Strip), uniquely Namibian
Sometimes known as the Okavango Strip, this oft overlooked region of Namibia offers great wildlife viewing in a lush environment on four river systems, in stark contrast to the rest of Namibia. The gateway is the town of Rundu in the east, where we recommend Hakusembe Lodge. From here you will continue east to Ndhovu Lodge on the Okavango River, near the Popa Falls. Susuwe Island Lodge on the Kwando River and Impalila Island Lodge on the Zambezi (close to the confluence with the Chobe River) offer the chance to traverse these amazing waterways and experience a remote corner of Africa, with great big game, birdlife and superb fishing.
For the more adventurous traveller this region can be accessed on a self-drive basis, or on a fly-in basis.
