   Key Facts
The land of a thousand hills and home to one of Africa’s true bucket list experiences, a trek in the Virunga Mountains in Volcanoes National Park, in the hope of finding rare mountain gorillas.
It is truly a humbling and even emotional adventure, and one of the most unique wildlife adventures to be found in Africa. Gorilla tracking in Rwanda is often described as ‘life changing’ and with good reason.
With only an estimated 880 Gorillas left in the world, to see these gentle creatures in their natural habitat is a truly unique moment.
Hikes in the mountains can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours + depending on the family allocated to your group and their location. Expert guides give a pre-trek briefing on specific protocols and rules. Porters are available to help carry backpacks and cameras.
