This is the perfect introduction to South Africa. A very popular itinerary and route, combining Cape Town with the Garden Route, ending with a safari in the Eastern Cape. You will be fully escorted for 4 days along the Garden Route, with a variety of day tours and excursions available in Cape Town, and safari options ranging from walking, to vehicles and Elephant back safaris.
Day 01
Overnight flight from the UK to Cape Town.
Day 2-6
On arrival into Cape Town International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel/guesthouse for your 5-night stay. Enjoy the attractions of one of the world’s most spectacular cities, including Table Mountain; the V&A Waterfront; Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens; the Cape of Good Hope; Robben Island, and many more. Cape Town is also a centre for adventure, exciting cuisine, shopping and some serious nightlife.
Day 7
Depart Cape Town and travel through the picturesque Hex River Valley, surrounded by magnificent mountains. Enjoy a wine tasting en route. Continue to Matjiesfontein, a National Heritage Site and onto Prince Albert, another historic town, known for its fruit, vineyards, olives and local cheese. Overnight in Prince Albert.
Day 8
A spectacular drive through Meiringspoort Pass, with breathtaking rock formations, as the road winds its way through the Swartberg Mountains to the quaint Little Karoo village of De Rust. Continue to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world. Enjoy a tour of one of the world’s great natural wonders, the spectacular limestone caverns of the Cango Caves, sculpted by nature through the ages. In the afternoon, visit an Ostrich Farm for a guided tour. Overnight in Oudtshoorn.
Day 9
Travel over the Outeniqua Pass to George and Wilderness; and onto Knysna, on the banks of a beautiful lagoon. Enjoy a cruise to the Featherbed Nature

Reserve and a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head to enjoy panoramic views. The afternoon is at leisure to further explore this charming town set around a natural harbour lagoon. Overnight in Knysna.
Day 10
After breakfast you will be transferred (unescorted, driver only) eastward along the Tsitsikamma Forest to Port Elizabeth, where the tour ends, with an overnight stay in Port Elizabeth.
Day 11-13
You will be collected from your hotel and transferred to one of a variety of game viewing and safari options you can choose from. Private game reserves offer the most exclusive and luxurious option, in an authentic safari environment; country houses and retreats, or a guest house style establishment are more affordable options giving you total flexibility.
Any of these options will give you access to the thrill of big game viewing
in this non-malarial area of South Africa. Enjoy a 3-night stay.
Day 14
After a final game activity this morning, and lunch, you will be transferred to Port Elizabeth airport in time for your return flight to the UK, via Johannesburg.
