The 6 Porini Safari Camps offer visitors the experience of staying in small, quality safari camps in wildlife conservancies in some of the finest big game areas in Africa, without the crowds. Walk with Masai warriors, take game drives (day and night) in open-sided 4x4 safari vehicles with expert safari guides, for the best wildlife safari viewing, in exclusive wilderness areas.
All the camps are run on environmentally sound principles, with no permanent structures, solar-generated electricity and water heated with sustainable charcoal briquettes. The traditional safari tents are comfortably furnished with private bathrooms. All game activities are included in the price as are all meals and drinks.
Four of the camps are in conservancies in the Mara eco-system, bordering the Masai Mara Game Reserve (Porini Mara, Porini Lion, Porini Cheetah and the seasonal Porini Bush), one is in the huge Ol Pejeta Conservancy near Mount Kenya (Porini Rhino) and one in the Selenkay Conservancy adjacent to Amboseli National Park (Porini Amboseli), overlooking Mount Kilimanjaro.
The Amboseli and Masai Mara conservancies are owned by the local Masai communities, and the camps are operated and managed with the objective of creating income and providing benefits for the local people so that they can gain from participating in tourism.
